Mumbai, Aug 9 (PTI) Tributes were paid to martyrs on Wednesday at the August Kranti Maidan here to mark the 81st anniversary of the Quit India movement.
The movement is a major milestone in the history of India’s struggle for independence from the British rule.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde led the gathering at the Maidan in paying floral tributes to freedom fighters and others who laid down their lives in the freedom struggle.
